Synopses
Marc, a young unemployed man, participates in an apparently harmless marketing experiment: A marketing company, interested in observing his buying behavior, allows him to go shopping at their expense as a test buyer. The only hitch: He must allow a small microchip to be implanted in his head to record his brain activity. At first everything appears to go well, but then the chip begins to malfunction...

Director's Comments
"The Inner Eye" is an ironic protest against manipulation through advertising and the continuous decline in protection of personal privacy. The protagonist in the movie has a chip implanted in his brain, which continuously sends current data on the implantee directly to the computer of the ominous marketing company. Naturally this is science fiction, but the film really isn't as far removed from reality as one might think. "Neuromarketing" is booming.

Due to our very limited budget, it was only possible to treat this important and extremely fascinating subject superficially. Nor was it possible to create large, futuristic sets, which would have been very logical for this subject. But we did try to make a consistent, morbid and ironic movie. I am very pleased about its good reception in spite of the limitations.

Publications
"The Inner Eye" was first shown at various festivals in Germany. Then it was included in the program broadcast by the "13th-Street“ Channel, (receivable via "Premiere" or "Kabel Deutschland"), who broadcast it during prime time. In the Spring of 2009 Bavarian Television acquired a broadcast license for "The Inner Eye". Since the Summer of 2010 the short has been available throughout Germany for schools and media centers through the media trade company "Filmsortiment.de"
